Cold Winter Run

Had a nice chilly 8 mile run this morning - went out in the desert for 4 miles and then turned back. Did the first half nice and easy and relaxing - took pictures and had fun. Coming home I increased the pace by 30 seconds each mile but was still enjoying the run. And believe me, at 27 degrees - you either enjoy it or you don't!

Here are some scenic pictures of the snow covered desert - oh yeah, and one of me!

Yes - more Snow!

I couldn't get the videos I took to show properly - you just couldn't see the snow and/or it was just too dark - oh well.

It started around 4:30p when I got home from work and just kept going. We we came home from Nathan's Choir concert the flakes were really thick and falling so slow - the kind that you just stare at the street lights and watch it 'cause it's so pretty!

Here are some pictures from waking up this morning - it was good to see and experience. Now most of it is just slush, but still white in some areas - if it had just held out until next Thursday we'd had finally had a white christmas here in St. George!

My Footprints so you can see that it was a few inches here.

Out on the road - been forever since I've seen a street looking like this.

We had an early Christmas present that was quite beautiful and I am totally grateful for it! I went to work and shoveled all the side walk and handicapped area's - it was fun - a little different shoveling at my age then it was as a teenager - but I still enjoyed it.

Christmas Breakfast Party

This year our church had a Christmas Breakfast Party - and it actually went pretty good. They had quiche and ham and lot's of little cake treats not to mention all the fruit. I actually think it went better than the dinner parties.

I was handed sweet baby emma by her Mother and have not literally held a baby since I believe CJ was one. CJ was sitting next to me and I kept looking at him and the baby, then to him - he just kept saying, "what??" - I just told him how I remember when I was holding him like this. It's not that I don't like holding babies that I don't hold babies -- it's that I like holding babies that I don't hold babies!

Here's one of our scouts - that I just had to take this picture to use as a blackmail one if need be -- trust me, you need all the ammunition you can get with some of these teen boys!!

Leaves Galore!

Ok - today was the day that we just had to finally break down and start raking up our leaves -- and when I say leaves, I don't mean a few here and there - I mean tons! It was like walking through a couple inches of snow. We started in the front and got 8 bags stuffed - then we went to the side and back and decided there was no way we were going to bags those - not today anyway.

Here are some photos of the work and fun afterwards!

6M Run

It's been a few years since I've ran 6 miles - so this is a major milestone on my road back. It was really cold today in the early morning. I went and ran along the river where it is always colder anyways - it was 27degrees there (Brrr). Trying to get Ross back into running shape - he wants to run the Bryce canyon 1/2 marathon this year (in July) and we need to start him early!

Do I look like I am cold? Good, because I am!

First Fire

Ok - you'll only see it here -- the very first fire in the new Weidman home.

We need to have someone come look at our fireplace - because it has a woodburning stove in the downstairs and the pipes are right by each other - so when the smoke goes up the fireplace chimney - some of it then goes down the woodburning stove chimney and into the downstairs - so the house smells like we just had a campfire going all night! ugh!
