Zion Pictures

A lot of the "people" pictures didn't show to well in the slideshow, so I am posting them here separately. The scenery ones came out well, so I won't add them.

Zion the Beautiful!

We had a wonderful time yesterday -- Ann and Trevor came to visit us on Sunday and so I got the day off today and we all went to Zion National Park to show Trevor the beauty of it. Yes, it was a little cold at first, but we warmed up and besides, Zion has a unique beauty to it with snow all over it. I put a slide show together below of our fun adventure. Some of the trail had us slippling an sliding with the snow and ice, and a few of us fell a few times - and still it was a wonderful time.

Christmas Cookies

Last night we had our combined YM/YW activity where we helped the Bishopric pass out their Christmas letter and cookies to the ward members. Out of 17 young men, we got 3 that showed up - 1 was the bishops son and 2 were my sons and the other was the second councilors son -- hmm.. what is wrong here?! I contacted all my priests and they had other activities going on and I suppose the same was with the other boys -- I've got to somehow instill within them the desire to serve and to realize how important it really is - you can sacrifice a few hours a month to benefit others.

We divided into groups and ours had the 2 blocks across the street and so we just took one of the carts from the kitchen, loaded it up with cookie plates and wheeled it around on the sidewalks. The boys would take a plate and letter and go up to the doors and hand them out. The weather was a little chilly for me, but the warmth of the spirit kept us warm throughout the time we were out in it.

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and how it can and does change the lives of individuals. May we all remember Him this holiday season and throughout the coming new year!

Long time! Sorry

Man of man I can't believe that it's been this long since I posted here - I will really try better.

My new calling back in October was that of Young Men's President. It is pretty fun because now I will get all the 11yrs olds I have as scout leader in my priests quorum because they are all teachers now - plus I know all the boys really well from scouts and deacons quorum so I think we were all meant to be together until they are gone on their missions. When the 26th ward split up we received several new young men so we are doing really well in that area now. We actually fill the sacrament passing and blessing without having the Elders help out - I help out when a priest doesn't show, but that's just cause I want to - anyway, it's been fun and I do hope that I can bless these young men's lives as much as they are mine.

Here is a very wonderful video clip titled "The Christmas Spirit" -- I hope we all can truly remember why it is we celebrate Christmas!

Feeling Peaceful

It's been a good few days - getting ready for a new calling is always fun and nervous at the same time. I won't say what it is until Sunday but I am so thankful to know of the trust and faith that Heavenly Father has in me and my abilities.

I'm not eating enough again and my workouts are suffering because of it - I only was able to complete the warmup in my Insanity yesterday so I am trying to get back to normal eating today - I just get so lazy that I don't want to put anything together - aarg!

Back to "almost" normal

Well today was back to "almost" being normal. Everything is starting to feel much better and my body is starting to heal and get back to it's normal self. The area of my mouth that was swollen and in pain from the wisdom took extraction is way down and pain near gone. I am able to chew much better and close my teeth completely shut. The flu symptoms have just about disappeared, just a bunch of runny nose still.

Today was a day off of work - because of Columbus Day - Federal Holiday - Banks closed! Terri still had to work and the boys still had school - so it was just me and shadow (our dog) at home today. I got a lot of things done today and just relaxed. I was able to workout again for the first time in 5 days - so that felt good. It was the pure cardio and cardio abs routine today and that one is always tough, but I did pretty well with the time off and sweated up a storm once again -- my exercise induced asthma doesn't enjoy it as much - but oh well.

Terri has her Birthday yesterday - and is a very young 29 again! I am so glad that I married a "forever" young woman because it keeps me young as well. It is such a joy to have been a part of many of those birthdays and will be there for all the remaining ones as well. Para Bens meu amor!

The Star Spangled Banner Like You’ve Never Heard It

Some things deserve a “Wow,” and this performance by two six-year-olds, two seven-year-olds and an eight-year-old at a Texas Tech University Basketball game some months ago is one of those

Dentist - who me??

The funny part about this is that I had "thought" back in 1984 that all my wisdom teeth were taken out - apparently they weren't - so I got to go through this one more time -- luckily it was only one this time.

It took quite a bit of courage on my part only because I fear dentist so much due to my military experience - and haven't been to a dentist since. One of our board of directors is a dentist and I know him really good and so he talked me into getting a checkup -- we then discovered that I still had one wisdom tooth back there and it was infected pretty bad - so it had to be removed. Anyway, after I made him promise that I would not feel anything - I decided to go and get it removed. It was done yesterday morning and I then went back home and spent the day in bed with ice off and on and pain medication -- and yes, it hurts. I actually think this one took hurts much worse than the 3 taken out in '84. Today has a little swelling and I can't chew, and as long as I keep the pain medication in me it is alright. They also fixed a temporary crown on one tooth and in 2 weeks I'll get the permament one put in -- I guess the old one had a "leak" in it and was slowly getting infection through it -- anyway -- for not being to a dentist in over 20 years my teeth were very good -- just the minor things and we are getting those fixed.

I had to put Shaun T on hold yesterday - couldn't workout at all -- I'm hoping to be able to tonight but we'll see.

Andy and his fiancee, Tiffany and little girl Anastasia arrived this morning - they are going to Vegas to meet some friends today and then spend some time with us tomorrow. I will get some pics tomorrow and then do a slide show post for everyone to see.

Bike Weather

Oh Man I love this weather here this time of year. When I go home for lunch I am able to ride my bike back to work -- it is 63 degrees now and just beautiful to bike in -- it's still a little chilly in the morning so I don't ride it then - but awesome right now.

The Huntsman World Senior Games started yesterday here in St George -- do you realize that in 2 years, I can join them! You need to be 50 yrs and older. I was checking out the 10k times, as it was ran yesterday, and the winner did it in 36min something -- only 3 years ago I was running around there -- and the 1/2 marathon from last year (because this year doesn't run until the 8th) was 1:33 - still well within my reach -- and I am still in excellent shape -- so yes, I am really thinking about getting back into road racing again to see where I am at. No marathons, just 10k's and half marathons -- so who knows!!

2 Weeks of Insanity

No - it doesn't mean anything bad -- it means I survived 2 weeks of Shaun T's Insanity!!

Today was my 2nd week Fit Test and there was much improvement and I am very impressed -- of course with "un-fit-shape" I was in before, anything is an improvement. The test consists of 8 exercises that you do as many reps as possible for 1 minute - then a 2 min rest inbetween. Here are the exercises with my first day results and today's 2nd week results:

Switch Kicks: 38 - 63 (25 more)
Power Jacks: 40 - 54 (6 more)
Power Knees: 97 - 126 (29 more)
Power Jumps: 18 - 40 (22 more)
Globe Jumps: 7 - 10 (3 more)
Suicide Jumps: 11 - 14 (3 more)
Push-up Jacks: 13 - 20 (7 more)
Low Plank Obliques: 18 - 32 (14 more)

You know, even if I only got 1 more rep on everyone that would had been great - just because these are so tough to do -- so I am really excited with the amount that I did get -- can't wait for the next 2 weeks!

Awesome picture

Had to post this picture - being in the young men I just fell in love with it.

Test

Just a test coming from my mobile phone.

General Conference Time

What a great general conference first day this was. I really enjoyed every talk and learned so much.

Tonight was special because it was CJ's first time going to priesthood session with me. So our club is now 3 - Me, Nathan and CJ. And they just had great talks for his first time. I am so impressed with Elder Ballards talk about Father and Sons talking - it was just beautiful.

Most people go out for ice cream afterwards but Nathan and I started going out to dinner and so we, again, went to our spot at Ernesto's on the Blvd and it was really good having all the Weidman priesthood together and having a good time and enjoying each other's company. It was a really good night.

I am so thankful for the priesthood in my life and how it has helped me and allowed me to be able to bless the lives of other's as well. It's a good goal in life to always remain pure and worthy so when the time comes to use my priesthood, that the spirit and do so unrestrained.

Oh My!

Sorry -- missed a few days!

We had our Scout District camporee on Friday/Saturday and it was fun. They did something new, which was play night games starting at 9:30pm and going to 12:30am - we didn't get to bed until just after 1:00am -- it made for a LONG night, but one filled with fun none-the-less. There were 6 stations that you had to get too using a GPS and flashlight in the dark, in the middle of the night up and down mountain trials and forest -- once you found the station you had to perform a certain task before moving on - anyway we did ok - not the greatest, but they (the boys) did their best. Here are a few pictures:

The autum colors up here were just beautiful and I had to stop and take some pictures -- it's been awhile since I've seen the mountains all painted up like this and I really miss it.

Insanity is going insanely well -- it is very hard but I am seeing some awesome improvements. The warmup is now actually starting to feel like a warmup and this is the 2nd week and so we are doing workouts we already did last week and I am able to get through them easier than last time -- not easier mind you - just a little better than last time -- it still is a killer -- because even though I am able to keep it going as you get better you increase the intensity and that still makes is just as hard as the very first time you did it -- I actually feel like I am finally getting fit and that feels so good at my ripe young age of (almost) 48.

We got a new Bishop for our new ward - it is Courtney Snow and I think he is going to be awesome! He and his new councelors are going to do a fine job and it'll be exciting to be a part of this new 9th ward. I hope that I can support them in anyway that might be required of me and that Heavenly Father will use me to the best of my abilities and strengths. I love the Lord and the gospel and am grateful for it being in my life.

Stay strong everyone!!

Soreness -- Big Time!

Man -- I have been so incredibly sore from this workout -- it's crazy. It's getting easier in a few things - but then he goes and throws something new in and it get you all sore again -- but no matter, I love it because I am INSANE! .

Got two more of the garden boxes moved up yesterday - so only one more to go -- I was just tired and hungry when it was time for that last one and just figured I'd finish it up on Saturday when we get back from the Scout district camporee - that should be an interesting night -- they are doing night game activities starting at 9:00 pm instead of the usual Saturday morning activities -- so we'll see just how long I last before getting tired.

Anyways - short and sweet -- catch you later.

Insanity!

Ok - I've been saying how CJ and I are doing this Insanity program -- and yesterday I mentioned how the Fit test really beat me up -- oh my, that was nothing -- we did our first full workout yesterday and it was INSANE! I'm gonna put a little vid clip about it right below this picture so make sure you check it out -- it is incredible! I've always been in shape, but don't feel like I have ever really been fit -- this is going to change that. I was pushing, both mentally and physically like I never have before -- it was the hardest 40 minutes that I've experienced in a long time -- and, now get this, I LOVED IT!! (crazy huh?) CJ did great, for never doing anything like this before it is starting to catch on quickly.

At scouts tonight we just went over preparations for our District Camporee on Friday/Saturday - making final preparations, etc. It went well -- we will have 4 leaders and about 12 boys -- then all the district will be there so it will be a really huge group and it'll be good to see some of the other troops again that we don't see on a regular basis.

It appears the autum weather is slowing creeping in and I'm loving it - the mornings are so crisp and cool now and if just feels like such a relief especially after these hot summers -- definitely looking forward to the cooler (not cold) weather.

Ok all -- remember a great quote from Alexander Pope: "to err is human, to forgive is divine" -- may we always find the forgivness for those who we feel have erred us and remember we are all human and not perfect -- only our elder brother and Savior Jesus Christ was perfect ... live to follow Him and His example.

New pic and workout

Here is a pic of Terri and I at Nathan's birthday party -- I really love this picture -- Terri just looks like she is so comfortable and at home resting on my shoulder -- makes me feel really good.

CJ and I started our workout today -- and it was only the FIT Test part and man I got beat up from that! actually the warmup routine he had us too had me tired -- yeah, I'm not very fit. Anyway, it's Shaun T's Insanity and it is a kicker - whew! I can't wait to see how much I get destroyed tomorrow! CJ did really good for his first time ever doing something like that -- I told him that it only gets better from here and it'll be tough for the first week, but then your body will start getting in shape -- he's going to do so good.

I am trying to do what is right in my life. If I have hurt anyone in anyway I am trying to clear things up - so if anyone reading this who feels this way by me, please let me know and let's work things out because I am just wanting to live life to the fullest and don't like soap opera style living. Since I have been made a High Priest it has more meaning to me and has given me the desire to truly live as Heavenly Father expects me to and intrusts me - so, there it is - I am sorry and let me know how or if I can make any amends where they are due.

We are getting a new bishopric next Sunday - all part of the new members from the old 26th ward joining us that day for the new St George 9th ward - can't wait and it'll be a blast having new people to get to know and love. I found out that our 9th mile aide station in the St George marathon was taken from us because the guy who was doing it couldn't find anyone in the ward willing to take it over -- he somehow failed to contact me. So, I contacted the marathon and told them that I will take it over and be in charge for now on -- luckily the people they got to do it this year only wants it for this year -- so we get it back starting 2010 and I am in charge of it -- so that will be fun -- hey, it gives me an excuse for not running it!!

See you all on the flip side!

Quiet Week

This was about as quiet a week as it can get.

On Sunday evening they announced the Stake boundaries change and that was good. Our ward remained intact and we added part of the 26th ward. I already know the younger scouts in that ward so it will be good having them with us now. Change is always good and I am excited for this one.

Also, last Sunday I was ordained to the office of High Priest after being an Elder for 27 years - everyone keeps telling me that I can now "officially" fall asleep in sacrament meeting! I don't do that now and doubt I will -- but it is said because most of the High Priest are much older and do have their "snoring" moments. And Nathan was ordained to a Teacher so we both moved up. This is the first time in 3 years that Nathan and I are in a different class during priesthood because I am still with the Deacons and he moved up....It was different without him.

The rest of the week was just work and stuff like that. On Tuesday with the Scouts, we did another round of the Physical Fitness merit badge and did our running, push ups and sit ups to see if there was improvement since last time. I, of course, overdid it and ran way faster that I was in shape to do - and did push ups and sit ups like I could - but really, I couldn't! So, I can't wait to really get fit - which, btw, starts on Monday with the Insanity by Shaun T program!

I have worked on the pile of wood, bricks, and just plain junk along the back wall all week and it is finally all gone and cleared up. CJ and Nathan would help on and off -- if I force them they help -- I just wish they would volunteer and be excited about work - I love working outside and doing manual labor -- it really is exhilarating. Anyway, it looks great. Next will be the moving of the trampoline somewhere else and then moving the garden boxes up under the big trees so that they will have shade for next year and not burn up and die like this year -- now that the place is really ours it is incredible the amount of projects I have but I am excited to do them all and can't wait to get started -- one by one, little by little.

Our neighbors, the Jensen's are moving -- they should be finished up by this weekend. They are the ones that have all the boys and so there goes 1/2 of our young men -- luckily with the new ward members coming in we will have more boys coming to replace them. This also means that my gym is back to just me -- they used it quite a lot -- and would often drink up all my water -- teen boys, gotta love 'em -- and I will miss them.

Ok -- well, I've talked my head off -- have a great Saturday!!

Happy Friday!!

Hello all - I hope people can remember, how on this day several years ago, the entire nation turned to God and weeks after that remainded close to Him -- why is He only remembered in times of great tradegy? We need to ALWAYS remember Him in triumphs and tradegies. This nation must always remember how it became the great nation that it is and it's because we are one nation under God!

Weight bar is gone - my days with HCG are also gone. It was good, brought be done to a good weight and now it's time to get back into physical shape as well. The program I ordered for me and the boys should be in soon (Shaun T's Insantity) - can't wait for that one! And I've just about got this Zone figured out and ready to start that soon...so all is well.

We closed on the house yesterday -- wait, did I just say that?? WE CLOSED ON THE HOUSE YESTERDAY!!! After 1 1/2 years of trying to - it was sure good to finally and actually do it. The banks of our seller finally agreed to release it and accept the payoffs and it is now our home! Terri and I went and celebrated with lunch out yesterday! The day I was spiritually "slapped" in the face by Heavenly Father telling me that this house is the one we need to buy and remain in this ward - was the day that I finally realized that it would be ours - I didn't think it would take this long - but our time is not the Lord's time and we saved $90,000 on the deal and can now afford to actually live in the home without worries of a high payment.

Have a great Friday everyone -- tomorrow Nathan turns 14!

Hey it's 09/09/09

And here's a picture I just took at 09:09 on 09/09/09 -- that's a once in a life time picture!

Had another crazy "eating dream" last night. This one was totally real - I just ate a piece of candy and then realized it was all over so I just went and started making some scrambled eggs -- it's crazy when your mind "thinks" it is starving what it puts you through. Anyway, I lost 1.4lbs today - that was good. I think I found out possibly the why I only did 1 the past few days - and it's my gum. I've been chewing gum like crazy the past few days and I looked on the box of each (they are sugar free) and said each stick is between 3-5 calories each -- well, the amount I chew that really adds up - so I didn't do any at all yesterday and lost an additional 0.4 - so go figure.

I have the weirdest scale - it doesn't tell me the same weight twice in a row - I had to get another scale because I thought the one was broke - so now I use two and try to get both to say the same number at least once - and I go with that number. It's the craziest thing - does anyone know of a scale that gives you the same number every time you get on it?

Well - have a great 09/09/09 day!

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Hello Friends/Family

Well...another 1lb today -- however today was also measurement day and my waist is now a solid 38 -- wow, from 42 I can't complain - so we are getting there slowly but surely. I was (of course) hoping for more than 1 lb today especially because I went and did a 20 min heartrate interval on the treadmill followed by some brutal ab work - Terri just rolls her eyes at me when I say, "only 1 lb today" -- oh well!

Everyone was eating Burger King last night - that really killed me - not that I really wanted Burger King, but the fact that I couldn't have it is what irritated me. The hardest part of this is by far and away the "mental" game that your mind plays on you with the foods you used to eat -- it really attacks you.

We went to the movie yesterday and saw "UP" - that was much better than I thought it would be and I laughed quite a bit - being the scoutmaster I have seen MANY boys like that little explorer scout in the movie. The fact that Terri and CJ went through 2 jumbo popcorn barrels really didn't help me just sitting there with nothing! Ok - I'll stop whinning and complaining - because it is working and I am losing my gut...oh, that's another great thing about this is that it only attacks your stored fat - and mine was the gut, the inner tube around the waist -- it is nearly completely gone!

Chat at you all again soon!

Monday, September 7, 2009

Happy Labor Day!

I got the boys up around 6:30 today and we got ready to put out the flags for the ward -- we do this every holiday. Nathan and I have been doing it for 3 years now and CJ is at 2 years. The scouts do this as a fund raising activity for us. If they want the flags in front of their home on a holiday then they pay the scouts for the full year and it goes into our budget for camp and activities. We actually put a flag out at every house in our ward (it's just a 2 x 2 block radius) whether they pay or not because it just looks good and we want everyone to know that we love America and the Boy Scouts!

I only lost 1 lb today - I know, stop complaining Chris - most don't even do that -- however, as I'm not "most" I fully expect to lose more than 1 lb every day -- so I guess I hit the treadmill some today! :-)

Hey - hope you all have a great holiday today and enjoy the "non-labor" Labor Day! Have fun, relax, kick the shoes off, ya'll come back now, ya'ere!

Finding Hope!

Here is a really awesome vid that just let's everyone know that "hope" is the reason for a lot of events in our life. There is always hope and with that you can make your life and the lives of others better and ultimately know that Heavenly Father is God and He is real and Jesus Christ is our Savior and that through Them we can achieve our potential and benefit not only ourselves, but our family, the kingdom and humanity!

I lost another 1.8lbs today - just moving along - as predicted yesterday, I am back to the "normal" daily weight loss that is to be expected. So next week at this time I believe I will be very near the 210 goal - stay tuned!

Have a great Fast/Testimony day all my LDS friends and family - and for my non-LDS friends and family have a super Sunday and enjoy life always!

Loved the Rain

It was awesome last night with the rain - we had a downpour for at least 2 hours and then it continued for a few hours at a sprinkle. I woke up around 3:30 am and just went to the window and was watching and listening to it, the thunder and watching the lightening. Nathan came up, as the thunder woke him and we just watched it for awhile. I actually fell asleep on the couch watching the rain fall -- just wonderful.

I lost another 4lbs today - so the two day total (since starting the 500cal) is 9lbs. Most of that is the weight I already lost and gained back from not doing the maintenance - anyway, I'm sure that tomorrow I will be back to the normal weight loss. Terri isn't too mad at me for losing so much in only 2 days! lol

We finally bought some bookshelves since it really looks like we are going to <> close on the house this coming week - I decided it's time to empty those last boxes - hey, it only took a year in a half - but they sure look great -- I'm sure Terri will probably put some pics up!

5lb Drop

As normal, I lost all the weight I gained during the load phase and this time I added a 0.4 loss to that. Since I gained 4.6lbs during the 2 days binge and I lost 5lbs today, that puts me at a 0.4lb lose thus far -- so, here we go!

It's all pretty much routine now - I mean I know how and what to eat and can pretty much fight the mental game so this is just going along as before. Can't wait to get the workout program in the mail that I ordered for myself and CJ -- that'll get us both nice and fit.

Sorry so short - just wanted to get this in - see ya all later!

HCG -- again??!

Yes - it's true - I'm doing another round - goal of 210 this time and to actually complete it propery - so keep an eye on my weight chart above and my posts - after this Terri and I are going to be doing the Zone Life (it's called Zone Diet, but as it's really a new healthier way of living than a diet - I call it the Zone Life).

I know it's a little hard to see (the chart), but yesterday was my first "binge" day -- and last time I gained 2lbs the first day and 2.4lbs the second day -- well...as you see, yesterday I ate 7,100 calories - and this morning that equated to a 4lb gain! that's right, I ate that much in one day! Needless to say I haven't eaten anything yet today - but probably will later. I just kept eating and eating, ugh! I actually can't wait for tomorrow when I can just eat the 500 calories!

Fun Times

Last Saturday we went down to Kingman, AZ for a get together with the Murphy family. Terri's brother, Scott's wife and daughter were getting baptized into the church. It was such a wonderful time being together. Terri and her brother Thomas gave very wonderful talks which added an even greater spiritual experience for the entire group. Here is a family pic of everyone.

We also were able to see Ann again! Haven't seen her since she graduated in May, so that was really nice. We got together and did a few family pics.

Terri and I had not been back to this chapel since we were first married. This is where we had one of our wedding receptions and we actually took a picture of us at this tree - so we decided to recreate that picture - it was pretty neat to know that we have survived and flourished during these years as much as this tree has and that we too are establishing deep roots together.

I had to take a picture of my Ann Marie and me together. Just something about daughters and I have the best one in the world!

This was a great time together and I can't wait for Thanksgiving where once again we will unite and have a blast!

EYO Swim

Only two boys showed up today besides myself and Dave (the other scout leader) - we went to a pool that a ward member had (old stake president rogers) and worked on some of the First class requirements for swimming.

We had fun trying to make the floatation device from a pair of pants - I tried but kept cheating by touch the bottom of the pool with my toe (advantages of being tall!) - yes, I know there will be no shallow "bottom" in a deep lake or ocean!

We played pool basketball afterwards - Troop 417 vs Troop 486 -- and of course, Troop 417 (my troop) won! The boys are moving along nicely in their advancement and will be more than ready when time to advance up to the regular (12-13) yr old scouts.

Family is heading down to Kingman tonight for a baptism to attend on Saturday. Terri's brother Scott's wife and daughter are being baptised - that will be awesome -- plus I get to see Ann again - can't wait for that!

HCG Final Results

If you see the weight bar up top - I reached my goal of 220lbs this morning - and yes I am excited. I was thinking of trying to go to 215, and with 5 more days it was possible, however - I like the 220 and now I can build back up properly and keep the sugar demon at bay!

Below is a sideshow from start to finish of 3 different view: Front, Side and Back - quite a difference and I still can't believe I had that much of a gut - oh well, I don't anymore! My body fat went from 18.1 to 10.8 and I lost a total of 9.75 inches overall -- my waist in particular went from 42 to 38.25 and hips from 40 to 37.5. Total pounds lost was 26. Now I go on 3 days without HCG and then 1 week at 1000 cals to make sure the new weight stays. Then I hit the gym again and I can't wait for that!

HCG works people - and I would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to lose a lot or just those stubborn 10-20lbs - the proof is above.

EYO Scouts - Nature Center

Before I get into the Nature Center - let me just say I am down another 0.4lbs for a 223.8 total - yeah was disappointed with that low figure - but at least it's still going down - I am doing well and just need a break - I'm taking tomorrow off from work just to rest up more and relax.

Here are the pics from our Nature Center visit. It went well and the boys saw some animals they hadn't seen before - but mainly ones they did see. They learned much and were able to pass off this requirement.

11th Day - 9 to go!

I'm not so sure I am going to finish all of those nine - but we'll see. I've had a good 2 days since last post --- well, other than me feeling irritable and upset that I can't eat normal. But in the weight loss department it's been good. Tuesday had be at 225.8 for a 1.8lb loss and today put me at 224.2 for a 1.6lb loss. Remember my goal is 220 and that's in 3 days if this keeps up - so I'll just have to wait and see. I hit the treadmill before lunch today, so that should be an added bonus -- I'm just feeling so tired and drawn out and that's even with the B12 that I can take -- at least the goal is near and the waste and pudge is disappearing!

Get to do the Tonaquint Nature Center tonight with my 11yr old scouts -- we have to identify 10 local plants and animals and they will have a guide taking us along a nature hike. Should be fun and I'll have some pics for tomorrow.

See ya all!

Weight Freeze

I had a weight freeze this morning - that's what I call it when my weight just stays or barely moves. Yesterday I lost 1.2lbs for 227.8 and this morning is was fluctuating between 228.0, 227.8 and 227.6 - so I went with the 227.6 to get a -0.2 -- this happened last time at day 11 and today is day 9 so it's not that hard on me (but still bugs me). So now I am going to start adding my treadmill back into the mix - that will just help me sweat out some more stuff and get me feeling better - because I really - and I mean really - miss working out!

I had a bad chest cold all day yesterday, hit me in the late evening and just had me feeling "blah" - I hate that feeling. I got my 1,000 names in the family indexing done, which was my goal for the entire month - so I decided to go for another 1,000 names. I've done this before, and really love it. I have a 10,000 name month once and that was crazy. It's just fun seeing all the names and all the people - every now and then I just stop and wonder what some of their lives must had been like - anyway - do it if you can - you'll love it!

Quiet Saturday

Just been watching the PGA championship most of the day - and lazying around the house. I lost another 2.6lbs today - putting me at 229.0 lbs now -- so far HCG is doing quite well for me.

The boys came home from there hike/campout around noon today. Here are some pics of them below. From what I heard they all didn't quite take enough water, but did manage with what they had. Had I gone I would had probably carried 2 gal containers to help out -- but for now, had I gone I would really have been struggling.

Ok, well - sorry so short.

Crazy Dream

Hello all - man did I have a silly one. I was with a bunch of boys, so I assume it was the scouts - just couldn't really focus on anyone - but we were at a pizza place waiting for the pizza and then one of the boys offers me one of those yummy Pizza Factory breadsticks - and I take one, put it in my mouth and bite and then - PANIC! "Oh, no, what have I done? I just ruined my HCG diet" I quickly spit it out -- and then I wake up -- I shot right up and sat up and then it all finally dawned on me -- "ok, just a dream -- I really did not eat that breadstick" - whew!! Silly crazy subconscious mind.

I was at 231.6lbs this morning which was a 2.4lb drop since yesterday. I am now -5.8lbs since starting the HCG and -10.2lbs since going on the 500cal part of it. It took 3 days to lose the 10.2lbs and last time took 5 days to lose 10.8lbs -- so I'm expecting my body to get back to where it was before and then it'll start being the normal 1-1.8 a day. I can't imagine losing another 10 in 3 days -- but we'll just have to see I guess.

Had a great Scout roundtable last night. That is where all the leaders in the district get together once a month for training -- as every boy deserves a well trained leader! Nathan and CJ have a backpack/campout tonight that I decided not to go too. Just not enough energy in me to do that much vigorus activity on only 500cal a day - so next time for sure -- just not next month -- our district fall camporee is Sept 25-26 and that is my Mr Olympia weekend in Las Vegas -- plus I get to see my Aunt Mary, Uncle Jim and cousin Theresa which will be awesome - oh yeah, and my nephew Andy will be there! lol

Ok - well - have fun - see you on the weekend!

Back to School day

Last night was a different event in the Weidman household. I gave the Father's blessings for the children and only had to give to the boys - no Ann - first time in well...12 years I guess. I did miss that dearly, but life goes on to new adventures and happenings. I took CJ to the bus stop today and we were alone - no Nathan - he goes to the middle school now and can walk there. So, I went from taking Nathan to the bus stop, to taking Nathan and CJ to the bus stop to now just CJ -- and next year they will both be walking to school and won't need me -- (yes, a little sob there! - okay, a big one! ugh I'm such a cry baby sometimes!)

I lost 3.6lbs this morning - that's 7.8 in only two days - kinda weird, I'm sure tomorrow will be to the normal weightloss amount. Last time I only lost 10.8lbs in 5 days, so we'll see. I have a better mind set this time and that is helping out a lot. I see the food around the house but it doesn't bother me like before -- I have my meals and that's all for now.

At EYO (eleven year old) scouts last night we just showed how to make kindling from logs and create fire wood - then preceded to create a fire with the kindling on the bottom and logs in a "tepee" style -- we didn't start the fire because of the location we were in but they got the idea and had fun doing it - just something about boys, a knife and fire - what is that all about! lol

500 Cal 1st Day

No - I promise not to do every title like today but with the new day - just wanted to get this one out there.

It went really well. The 2 day binge took me up 4.4lbs to 241.8 - and I wasn't hungry one bit yesterday. Today my weight dropped to 237.6 which is a 4.2lb drop - putting be at just +.2 since starting (237.4) - so everything is going well as expected. Eating properly for those 2 days really helped a lot because I don't feel hungry now either - tomorrow the HCG should really kick in and then I'll be fine. Hopefully I will lose like last time and then I'll end properly to keep it off and back to the gym to build up properly.

Didn't have much else happen yesterday - so that's it folks!

HCG Binge Day 2

Man I have honestly never eaten so much junk in a 2 day period - and I've eaten junk before - just not back to back. Anyway, I am SO excited to get this 500 cal going tomorrow (never thought I'd hear me say that!). I'm just tired of adding weight. I went up 2.4lbs today and probably will gain another 2 something at tomorrow's weigh in - but it's okay - that's what will tie me over for the first 2 days until the HCG kicks in.

I've been doing the Family Indexing again the past two days - it's my new workout - since I can't workout properly on this diet I've decided to use the hour for the indexing - plus our ward has been taken over from our first place spot in the stake by the 4th ward - and so they need my speed and power! :)

Nathan got his schedule today and CJ was last week - so they are both ready to go. Nathan get's to start an hour later -- but I doubt CJ will let him sleep too much in the mornings as he is getting ready. Anyway, I wish them well -- kinda weird not giving a Father's blessing to Ann anymore...I really miss that.

Bye now - see you all tomorrow!

HCG Binge Day 1

Ugh! I guess I must be doing it right this time because I just want to throw up -- I have been eating so much "junk" that it's making me sick - last time I only ate some and was pretty hungry my first 2 days on the 500 cal days -- so as not to repeat that I am eating the 3000+ cals that is suggested and yeah, it's tough. I honestly never thought that I would hate eating zingers and cookies - but I do now - and I still have tomorrow.

I know, I said I reached my goal of 20lbs before - so why am I doing it again -- well....I didn't follow plan completely and I didn't get rid of my belly (which I am call my "pudge") completely and so I'm going for that - and since I now know I can do this and that it works I will try and do it correctly and properly this time.

PBS has a Julia Child special tonight with some of her shows being shown (it's their pledge drive) so I taped it and am watching it - it's really interesting watching her, being the pioneer of television cooking and the difference between the food network people today - but I sure do enjoy that woman!

Good night all - and I hope my belly can rest up enough for round 2 tomorrow!

School Shopping

We actually had a great time school clothe shopping today. Nathan and CJ were able to get quite a lot of new jeans and shirts and other necessary items for the big Thursday school time. The boys are in different schools again this year - CJ stays in Tonaquint Intermediate and Nathan moves on to Dixie Middle School. Next year they will be together again at the Middle School.

This summer kind of "dragged" on for them and they are ready to get back to seeing their friends who they haven't seen all summer - I mean you have your local neighborhood friends - but not your school friends.

My HCG came in today and so I will be starting it up again tomorrow. I went to the store and got me lot's of "fatty" foods for the next two days. This round I am doing everything right and not quitting early - we'll see just how far I can go with it.

Movie Night!

Here is the preview of the Julie & Julia movie - a real must see. Terri and I just loved it. I am a Julia Child fan and so really enjoyed the movie - apart from some very un-necessary vulgarity from the author (apparently that's what Julia Child didn't like either) I really had a fun time.

Bon Appetit!

Awesome new posters are available at realheroposters.com (just click on picture to go to website).

The new Bible series is out and these are really awesome. This one is of Joseph and is already one of my favorites. Check them out when you have the time - definitely worth the look and purchase if you can.

EYO Swim

We had an awesome time today with the 11yr old scouts (EYO). We went to the pool and San Hollow and did their 2nd Class requirements then let them swim around for fun for about 20 minutes after that. My troop (417) currently has 2 boys and the other troop (486) has 2 boys, so we do everything together and have a great time.

I (again), got to much water in my ear and couldn't hear afterwards - I will remember to get ear plugs next time - because it really does bother me. I jumped off the diving board with them about 2 times then had enough of that - they we goofed off on the slide a couple times and just had a great time - oh yeah, and they all passed the requirments. Next will be the 1st class requirements.

Afterwards we drove by McDonalds and got us all a little ice cream cone - and while driving back and eating them - one of the boys from the other troop made this comment to me: "Bro Weidman, you are just like my Dad - skinny all over and pudgy in the middle" - what?? I'm not that pudgy -- but he was right and so I am going to go back on the HCG diet and do it the right way this time - go all the way through and get rid of this "pudge"! An, 11yr old boys, gotta luv 'em!!

Backpack campout

Nathan and I went on a backpack campout this Friday/Saturday. It was our first time actually backpacking everything in and camping. I really missed my cot, but wasn't going to carry that in - the hard ground was not my friend that night.
Here we are at the beginning - all warm and sunny

a picture of my backpacking wolf buddy

Making sure every last boy is up before I make the move

Starting to get up into the higher levels

This is what we woke up to...snow!!!

Luckily we were prepared and had plenty of warm gear for the hike back

Me contemplating on what the heck an old guy like me is doing out here~! lol

Finally - it's over - and yes, it really was fun.

Scout Food Drive

We had a boy scout food drive last month and I just wanted to post some of the pictures from it with Nathan and CJ. They were the only 2 scouts going around with me to pick up and deliver the items to our dixie care and share.

These boys really had fun taking the time out of their lives to collect this food for the needy and deliver it. They are learning the value of service to others and I am pretty proud of these two!

Sweet Treasure!

This was actually back on January 31st. It is the family back together for the first time in ages. I was the only one missing from the picture before - but now we are together. I treasure this picture like none other because I really love and miss my family -- more than I ever thought I had.

It was a wonderful time being with them. At first it was hard to believe that I was actually with my Mom and Dad and my sisters - but the more I was with them it felt so warm. I am only sorry that it was only for 3 days - I could had spent a LOT longer with them.
My Sisters just loved me to death - hey, can you blame them? lol - just kidding - but this was one of the most fun pictures I have ever taken - I really do love and miss those two. It was great to be with Kristen again, I hadn't seen her since age 16 or 17 - and it's been about 8 years since seeing Vicki - I sure hope we can get together again soon.
As the Church Ads often say, "Family - isn't it about - Time?"
